It’s a promo post…promo post…but the best kind of promo.
What IS the best kind of promo? The kind that involves pretty ladies of course.
In just over two weeks, Wonder Geeks Activate! (my event business surrounding geek and nerd shows) has its very first burlesque show entitled Wonder Geeks Activate! Presents Nerdgasm Burlesque. Happening May 8th at Babylon Nightclub in Ottawa, we have been able to bring together a superstar crew of the best burlesquers from Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal.
Red Herring, Charlie Quinn, Sucre A La Creme, Koston Kreme, Jolie Stripes, Rhapsody Blue, Scare-Ah Lynne and Del Roba are all set to hit the stage and shimmy around in some geeky and nerdy themed acts. Hosting is Champagne Sugar who is certain to be entertaining AND gorgeous. This will be a night to remember AND it’s the perfect way to start off Ottawa ComicCon weekend!

We are ONE WEEK away from Ottawa Comiccon! What can you expect from booth A534, which is where you can find me and my art?
- Brand-new art prints. New ‘Say…Hello Project’ prints, new horror prints, 11x17 Lady League poster prints…and more!
- Canvases. A few new canvases will be on display at the booth, including a new large Batman piece and some small Say…Hello Project canvases.
- Square Reader. Yes you can pay by Visa and Mastercard now!
- Special Guests. Red Herring - A Professional Distractionwill be around all weekend with cool stuff for sale. Friday Jolie Stripes: Ottawa’s Very Own French Kiss is hanging out with us and Sunday Rhapsody Blue will be at the booth. All will be dressed for the con so stop by and say hello.
- Vests, ties and charm.
- Special Deals! If you’re getting autographs from Nathan Fillion or Felicia Day, why not get it on some great art? Anyone who purchases an item and gets it signed by the celebrity it’s based on gets a free print of their choosing (equal or lesser value of course)! Just bring it back to the booth so I can see and take a photo.
You won’t have problems finding my booth - it’ll be the one with cool music playing at a reasonable volume and lots of pretty girls surrounding it. See you there!

Wonder Geeks Activate! 2 is getting closer!
We’re less than 2 weeks away from the best thing to happen in April since the invention of spring.

- Geeks and Nerds of Ottawa…we’re activating again!
The people have spoken and they unanimously agree - Wonder Geeks Activate! is a hit! Thanks to the support of the community and the media we are back for another stellar show at the nightclub on the edge of the universe, Zaphod Beeblebrox.
In case you’ve forgotten, Wonder Geeks Activate! 2: Activate Harder will take you on a journey that combines the comic convention experience with the nightlife scene. With art, music, gaming, costumes and more, it truly is a show unlike any other.
We’ve brought in five new artists for the April 15th show. Showcasing and selling a variety of work, these titans of talent join an ever-growing list of local artists and craftspeople getting activated. Wonder Geeks staff will also be back with their usual assortment of incredible work, ranging from t-shirts, photos, jewellery, prints, original art and more. We’ll also have a special booth dedicated to our upcoming May show, Nergasm Burlesque with tickets available for sale AND an exclusive look at our poster for the event.
The master of the nerdtable, DJ Lowpass, is back behind the booth to spin your favourite geek tunes before the start of his own show, Electro-Mondays. Our last show featured music from Daft Punk’s ‘Alive’ album, some of the best Nerdcore tunes around, 8-bit remixes and William Shatner. What will Lowpass play on April 15th? Stay tuned…
Live videogaming returns as we fire up the Super NES for some classic gaming action. Cosplay will also be back and we’re encouraging as many people as possible to come dressed to impress. As an added incentive, anyone who shows up in costume pays the advanced ticket price! Throw on your cape, grab your shield, pocket that phaser and save $2!
Wonder Geeks Activate! 2: Activate Harder beams in at 7 PM and grabs a jetpack out around 10 PM. Tickets are $7 in advance and available in person at The Comic Book Shoppe, (228 Bank Street) or online at the link provided below. Tickets also available at the door for $9. Ages 19+

WGA! will be participating in a special event called “THE CBS PRESENTS: CAPITAL CITY GEEK GIRLS”! This is a private event for female-identified, transgender, and gender-queer customers.
We will have an art show on site with showcased work from our femme fan artists available for sale. Our Promotion Coordinator will be on staff at the Shoppe and our Executive will be womanning our booth!
